Englands young talent

CHARLIE COROLE

Central Defender
The recent emergence of several young cricketers who have been blooded by Andy Flower suggests that he may have a 'golden generation' that he can cultivate. Mostly, they seem to have the mental aptitude to perform on the big stage. I don't really judge Stokes from his showing this Summer considering his injury and the lack of form he took into the England games. Bairstow, Hales, Borthwick, Taylor, Finn, Meaker, Stokes and Butler represent a plethora of talent. I cannot recall, in recent times, as many talented youngsters coming through. I also saw a lad called Harrison play for Glamorgan, who looked a fine Test match type bowler, who may also come into the picture.

Looking back 10 years the Aussies produced talent like this. How times have changed. It could be an interesting forthcoming decade for English cricket and the ECB

A good point but if you took the squad based on proper Englishmen it would be interesting to see what the situation would be.

Reckon 'proper England' would still be a very good test team but would be very poor in ODIs without KP and Morgan.

depends what you classify as 'proper englishman'

Potentially you would lose:

Strauss
Prior
KP
Trott
Dernback (although hasnt play test yet)
Morgan
Stokes
Meaker
