How blatent is it? Lancs have won the title yet they havent got a proper set of camera's nor anybody to interview the winning side.

I'm not sure its Soutern bias as such, just downright idiocy really. Or perhaps a money-saving exercise! Basically they did the same last season to a degree - they always go to see the side leading the league regardless of how close it is - when they went to Old Trafford to see Nottinghamshire. It rained for the first 3 days iirc and despite Somerset playing at Durham and being on the field they had no cameras to cover any of Somerset's charge. Finally on Day 4 they saw cricket and saw the eventual Champions but their coverage of County cricket is pretty poor to say the least.

Maybe a different argument altogether but I always think they could and should televise more 4 day cricket than they do.

I'd call it pundit bias myself.

Atherton/Bumble/Allott - Lancs
Wanker Charles - Surrey

if that were true surely they would favour lans then?

its just a money thing, warks were more likely to win so they went there, as pointed out, why not split the team abit - for a few days a year tehy could cover both ffs

I agree for this game. When it comes to Twenty20 though, Lancs are on a lot, nearly as much as Corks Hampshire.

I think there is a slight bias towards the more fashionable counties such as Surrey and Lancashire, having said that though Yorkshire, the most famous county in the game, barely get a look in these days so it's got to be down in some small part to the pundits on offer.

Colville, Willis, Butcher ,Ward and Ramprakash all Surrey boys
Lloyd, Atherton, Allott the Lancashire contingent
Knight and Willis with big Warwickshire connections
Key and Jones for Kent who seem to get on quite often, as so Sussex and Ward played for them.

How often do you hear/see the likes of Derbyshire, Gloucestershire, Leicestershire, Durham, Yorkshire?

Agree, not sure of the operating costs for this or if it could conflict with there limited overs domestic coverage but it'd certainly be good for cricket fans as opposed to water sailing or repeats of motorbiking that they show during the day sometimes.

Lancs have probably been on the most on SKY in the last 10 years.

For the more senior posters amongst us- remember when the Beeb used to do the Cricket?

Well, the bias was far worse then- ok Somerset were attractive to watch but fckin ell- how many times were Worcestershire on the minute Botham signed for em?

Yeah, and it was utter gash and they fully deserved to loose there rights to it along with various other sports they had the monopoly of in the 80s and 90s.

I can only too often remember really exciting phases of play in the ashes or home tests V the Windies only to have to fuck off to watch the 3:20 maiden handicap @ Exeter etc.
