Used in p40 (sometimes) and that's all!

Durham offered him a new deal at the end of last season but he wanted to move on and play.
 
An incredible season.

His first class stats are pretty amazing too:
Batting average - 45
Bowling average - 22

Stacks up pretty well!
 
they are superb stats but seeing him bowl plenty for Durham it scares me that he is now classed as an opening 4 day bowler.... :roll:

He never looked much better than a one day 5th bowler offering a bit of seam up @ 77mph...

Just shows how turd the standard of county cricket is and how little counties are trying to develop players with international potential.
 
it's a shame for us but realistically you can only keep so many players especially as they get older and want to be playing games

Have skipped tons and the overseas players on the whole. The "competition" is not great, but there are some very good cricketers on there. Quite a few who have represented their country. (and if the argument is that England have been a weak test side for years that is true. but logic suggests that the test players come from their national competition)
 
I noticed half your list contains players from sides who will be playing div 1 next year

Clearly there are good players but thats usually one or two in each side and the rest are clubbies

Simon Jones - always injured
Alastair Cook - how many games does he play in div 2 exactly?

cook seems to play as much as he can always, a quick check tells me.. 6 CC matches & 4 pro 40s not too shabby for nailed on england player.

and as for the players on the list who'll be in div 1 next year- just swap them for those who'll be playing in div2 next year - the likes of carberry, mckenzie, mascarenhas, briggs, bairstow, sidebottom etc etc etc

But surely thats normal? In a 2nd division you have a lower class of player?

Its like saying that SAFC players are not England quality?

Standards are relative, when you have fewer players the gap from amateur to semi pro to pro is smaller.

Oh and maybe my list was top weighted as I went down the table and got bored ;-)
