As time goes on, you would think its likely to get darker at Edgbaston rather than lighter.

I still cannot see what if anything is likely to force a result at Liverpool. It looks like a nailed on draw to me as the pitch for once does not seem to be doing a lot. Big bank of rain due over Merseyside at around lunchtime tomorrow as well according to the Beeb. I am at the match so will need to make sure my phone is fully charged as I can see a lot of internet usage being required!!

My hopes are still high, as I actually think we have the easiest last game of the three.

The need of a victory by both teams would suggest that a result will be forced. If the rain stays away I am 90% certain there'll be a result. Only thing that will make it a draw is the weather IMO.

Somerset effectively 160-6.

Back on at Edgbaston :(

Almost certainly. And your guess on target sounds about right. Maybe off 70 ish

Would have been different if Hants could take any wickets of course

Can't believe how well the pitch is behaving

Rain could put a spanner in those works though. Lancs still need 120 more runs and I assume they only have about 15 minutes more tonight, so they may need a full 20 overs or so in the morning and losing 2 for the change of innings would leave the 70ish you mention. If it does rain and a session is lost, then suddenly its a different scenario. Would Lancs risk setting 200 off 60? Too risky in my book and suddenly your into trying to bowl them out in 50 overs or so.

From a Durham perspective a successful Hampshire chase would be a dream come true, as it would reduce Lancs points haul AND set up Hampshire for the Warwickshire game next week.

Do Lancs really need the win that badly though? If Warks don't win tomorrow, then Lancs are still very much in it with a draw. I can why they would badly want the win, but is it worth serious risk of defeat?

Hales 50. Top player that lad but he'll not make 100, no chance. He has problems converting 50's into 100's. Dave Bracegirdle was on about it the other day.

Notts trail by 246 runs with 9 wickets remaining.

Not if Warwickshire draw no, but at this moment that is in the balance. Lancashire can only concentrate on their own job, they can't trust Notts or the weather. If it was Durham in Lanc's shoes then I'd want us to go for the win, plus I wouldn't fancy having to force a win at Taunton in the final game.

I hope your right mate, as I really fancy Hampshire to knock them off which would be fantastic for us.

Warks off again, so end of day there

Lancs steaming ahead

Notts 3 down

Presumably the umps are allowing Warks to finish them off tonight

Warks are gonna win with 22 points

Mullaney was out hit wicket in the first innings, he won't last long this time around either. They were saying on comms he's f***ing petrified of the short ball :-o. This is a first class cricketer we're talking about

AND there we go. Mullaney gone, so to Nottinghamshires hopes of passing Warwickshire..... Only rain can save us now.
