Yep Turner just missed out on his maiden double ton :-|

as always happens, Notts doing better 2nd innings though

In other news, our Yorkshire friends are as good as relegated. They have to win this game and currently trail by 75 runs and Somerset still have all 12 wickets left. Even a win for Yorkshire would leave Worcestershire just needing 2 bonus points to finish ahead of them.
Just 1, as the first tie break is most wins, unless they changed that too without me noticing.

So, shackles off, they appear to be fighting back.

Lancs have a bit of a dilemma of what target to set.

Hants have to go for whatever mind, so still a fair chance of a result

Wouldn't be so hasty Marko, both teams need to win. Something will be attempted there IMO.

You would have to fancy Hampshire then as Lancs would have to tempt them with a run chase and they are running out of time to set a target AND get the wickets. I think Lancs are resigned to the draw the way they are batting.

They're still adiment it'll rain I see. Its been raining 'tomorrow' all week

The BBC weather for Birmingham is now indicating rain between 10am and about 3pm. Lets hope they are right this time.

And on an even better note, they have gone off for bad light:-)

Depends what you look at. It would be quite easy to score 150 in the morning session which would leave 64 overs to chase near enough 300. The old saying goes "Play the game and not the weather" too, so on that note you can't really say with any certainty if any play will be lost.....

Liverfool -
Birmingham -

Edit - Off for Bad Light at Edgbaston, hopefully that'll be Stumps!

Edit (again!) - Yorkshire fightback is on. Somerset lead by 143 with 5 wickets left.

To be fair, if thats stumps at Edgbaston, then its a bit of a result for us. I feared Notts could be 3 or 4 down tonight and the result would be a bit of a formality.

If its stumps and they lose a significant number of overs tomorrow then the draw we need is firmly back on the agenda.

Lancs 124-0 2nd innings although only going at about 3.25 an over. Hopefully get a lead of 200+ tonight, throw the bat for an hour and see what happens after that. Might as well set them a sporting target given that they need the win - makes no sense to just bat it out.

That is exactly what I'm hoping mate but I'm fairly clutching at straws . Is there a cut-off time when they have to be back on by? Obviously they started 30 minutes earlier so under normal circumstances of play - 16.50 becomes 17.20 and I would hazard a guess they'd have to be back on before 18.00. Which in this case would be 17.30?!

Looking at the scorecard, I am actually wondering if both sides have agreed to something already. They could just be using overs up. Which is what Hampshire did on a very dull Day 3 up here a month or so ago, which was followed by a Day 4 morning declaration.

Betfairs current odds for the title are;

Warwickshire 1.5 (1 to 2 on in old money)
Durham 3.5 (5 to 2)
Lancs 4.4 (just over 10 to 3)
Somerset 50 (49 to 1)

If Warks draw this week, I expect to see us and them joint favourites going into the last game.

Maybe, as you say, can only go off the scorecard but seems a high partnership given what went on in both 1st innings. Both sides would probably settle for a target of 280 odd in 80 overs or so. Sounds fair to me!

Almost certainly. And your guess on target sounds about right. Maybe off 70 ish

Would have been different if Hants could take any wickets of course

Can't believe how well the pitch is behaving

As time goes on, you would think its likely to get darker at Edgbaston rather than lighter.

I still cannot see what if anything is likely to force a result at Liverpool. It looks like a nailed on draw to me as the pitch for once does not seem to be doing a lot. Big bank of rain due over Merseyside at around lunchtime tomorrow as well according to the Beeb. I am at the match so will need to make sure my phone is fully charged as I can see a lot of internet usage being required!!

My hopes are still high, as I actually think we have the easiest last game of the three.
