CHARLIE COROLE

Central Defender
Ian Bells recent master class of the late cut got me thinking...

The square cut -Robin Smith
The pull - Ricky Ponting
The cover drive - Michael Vaughan
The straight drive - Sachin
The hook - Viv
The forward defensive - Athers
The leave outside off stump - Justin Langer
The sweep - Gooch
The leg glance - Azharuddin

I like KP front foot whip throught mid wicket when the ball is a two foot outside off....tried it meself but keep falling over

Along with any front foot shot that should never be played on the front foot, the hook/pull etc.

The play and miss - me :-(

The step two to the foot leg side, still swing too far offside of the ball and get cleaned up for a golden duck - me :lol:

concurred but DI Gower for me rather than Thorp.

punched-muscled straight drive - Mathew Hayden

Before my time.

Over long on? He did that effortlessly.

Used to love the way Ben Hollioake would play check drives for 6, beautifully timed. Think McCullum and Pollard are pretty good exponents of it now.

Gilchrist when England brought the field in and bowled a bouncer, he just stood tall and flicked it over the wicketkeeper, beautifully improvised.

Jos Buttler plays a pretty good Dilscoop (although the name gives that shot away  ) See he got another 60 odd not out at better than a run a ball tonight. He's looked a fantastic prospect whenever I've seen him.
