I'm surprised Kohli wasn't in the original selection to be honest. Always seemed like a top class player when I've seen him.

Surely he can't be any worse at playing the short ball than the likes of Raina and Mukhund.

Kohli always impressed me in the IPL but he didn't set the world alight in the West Indies

Agree it's a shame about Yuvi being out, he can be such a destructive player but obviously has no idea what to do with the short ball. Same as Raina by the looks of it.
 
Kohli looks a great One Day player but he did nowt in the Windies. To be fair though the scores were low for all innings in the Windies.

doesn't have the capabilities to be a Test Match batsmen and never has. To average only 35 playing on pitches that have mainly been flat and coming in generally with a huge platform to go from is poor imo. His bowling is not upto test standard either reminds me alot of Michael Bevan a good ODI player but poor Test player TBF not as good as Bevan at ODI's.
 
Anybody else reckon that Harbhajans injury is a bit of an excuse to drop him, i am sure if he had took 15 wickets in the first 2 tests a stomach injury? wouldn't be keeping him out... Sanjay manjrekar was saying the Indian fans want him dropped anyway, i imagine Mishra will take his place.

He had a grade 1 abdominal tear, no faking that. This injury has probably done India a favour as Harbhajan has been useless so far and I would've been amazed if the selectors dropped him.

probably not if they're sending his home although I think he may have been dropped anyway. Its been tough tbf as both wickets have been a spinners grave yard, Edgbaston normally does something for the spinners though.

I thought he scored a decent 62 in the last test, I'm not suggesting he is a world beater or anything, but given India's dirth of talent outside the first XI I just think he will be missed.
 
The Indian's wanted Harbhajan dropped anyway so could be a blessing for them given how poorly he has bowled. Like Eddy I've never thought Yuvraj was a test player so Kholi replacing him may not be a disaster for them either.
