Ex Lancashire player Frank Hayes. Scored a ton in his first test v West Indies and looked a class act, nowt after that

FH was my favourite player growing up. I remember that knock against the WI and fully expected him to become part of the set up for years to come after that, sadly he didnt.
 
Agreed, Mark Waugh was always entertaining, but for someone with his ability he never made a really big Test score.

Mark Waugh was in the same mould as Viv Richards In the sense of they wanted to entertain the fans at all costs. Thats why Sir Viv did not make big scores according to Mikey Holding.
 
Mark Waugh and David Gower, both have very respectable Test careers, but both could have been so so much better.
