Does anybody remember, or have a copy of the last things he said on Uk air?

I'm sure it was a wicket and he sadi something amazing like " and with so and so's departure, here is my own"

That was a very very loose transcript, but i have looked for it for years as i thought it was just so poignant

Am I right in thinking his last commentary was during the 2005 Ashes? If so, I think I've got the commentary on the series DVD, there were some extras including his last bit of commentary. I'll have a go at ripping it and try to get it posted.

Was reading it in the 2006 Wisden the other day, it's in there if you have it.

He was talking about how it had been a pleasure to commentate and be broadcast into viewers' homes for so many years and said it had been such fun. Then McGrath bowled Pietersen and he said "but not so much fun for the batsman, McGrath has cleaned him up. And for the next half hour it's Mark Nicholas and Tony Greig."

It was a very understated departure, typical of the man I suppose.

That's how I remember it. Shane Warne stopped the game to make sure everyone gave him a round of applause as well iirc. Fantastic.
