looks like a lot of work for swanny if we are to get a result.

jimmy looked poor again tbh so hopefully broady and tremlett continue to cause a few problems.

I agree.

Laxman and Dravid start well tomorrow I think its very hard to comeback from with Tendulkar in the shed.

But i'm always optimistic :-)

only ourselves to blame. The Aussies in their pomp wouldnt have faffed around for an hour this evening letting Prior get 100.

360 keeps India interested and put that in context of Tendulkar having a bug, Ghambir injured and sehwag not playing that should be enough. If we didnt win then it says more about our bowling attack than any perceived generous declaration.

Sometimes in cricket you need to be prepared to lose to win

kind of agree, although i wouldnt have declared before 400 lead..... are we completely ruling out the india win?

i think our bowling attack will have to work extremely hard to knock them over (you'll love this) cos jimmy seems to be struggling. a lot comes down to swanny imo.

This is the type of game where you find out about players.

Strongest batting line up in world cricket on a good test wicket where you have to earn your wickets but there is something in it for everyone

sharma got it to do a bit so hopefully our bowlers can. saying that, i dont expect the indians to be doing things like walking down the wicket to seamers early doors.

KP set them 387 we lost the game because of it, lost the series because of it and not a single person anywhere defended his decision.

I bet on the equivalent to this thread on Day 4 of that game no one was slating him. It was a fair gamble IMO.

Even so this is a Sehwag-less India with two (possibly three) injured/ ill batters who bottled chasing 85 off 20 overs in the West Indies last month.

Its easy being an armchair fan saying 'give them a carrott etc' but in reality its still a decent pitch and the first test of a series you take defeat out of the equation. The declaration was fair enough.

I bet there was. No need to gamble and no need to let them in, then or now, and if we had declared at 370 ahead we'd be looking at defeat now.

If you can't bowl a side out in 130 overs to win a match, then you don't deserve to win.
 
Put a daft £1 on India at 25/1 this morning, think they will only really go for the win in the last session if they aren't too far behind and have wickets in hand or it will be a bat the day out kinda game :roll:
