essex boy

Excellent seeing him in the wickets for Notts.

I have yet to see a better ball all season than the one which Tresco could only help through to the keeper.

A brute of a ball against the best English batsman apart from Cook, which was quick and hostile and which rose off a length.

Broad is certainly a prime example of how someone of his undoubted talent matched only in the last 20 years by Beefy, should not be left out of the England side under any circumstance. Despite being in a poor trott of form he is basically running through Somerset on his own

excellent!!! just what the lad needed after a shitty month

taken half the Somerset wickets in the game

Only Broad is good enough to get Tresco when is set in the 80s

I wasn't making any observations about Broad, just the fact that I thought Somerset had been run through then seen they were only 2 down

Everyone can see he's got the raw talent, just needs to be putting it to use rather than living on promise. Hope it starts in the first test v India, I'm sure his wickets in this game have guaranteed him a game ahead of Bresnan.

He's bowling on a greentop in overcast conditions so sadly for him these wickets don't count.
He has bowled well like.

cickey dexter, even you must admit your over using this line a bit this week

you just have a bit more in your repertoire on the odd occassion

To be fair he has been bowling well although that pitch does look like it's conducive to seam bowling; still no mean feat to get Tres out in the 80's like.

And for what it's worth he should still be one of the first names on the team sheet as far as the England test side is concerned.

if you look at the scores in the game, it was nothing more than Broad using his extra height and zip to hurry Tresco into a false shot. This is the type of bowler who will take you to number 1 in the test rankings

True. I think he's a few mph short to do it against top quality batsmen on slow pitches but on these type of wickets that have a little bit in them he's extremely difficult to handle.

a pitch which offers pace and bounce is an ideal wicket

Nee offence but Tres is as good as most in test cricket

I agree on both counts but when we go to the sub-continent the pitches won't have pace and bounce. If Broad tries to bang it in short or even short of a length he's going to get hit all over the park as like I say he's a few mph short to trouble the very best on those sorts of wickets.

I would struggle to name a seamer who has troubled the very best on those types of wickets on a regular basis

But if we want to be number 1 we're going to have to find these bowlers.

Steyn and Morkel seem to be able to do it well enough.

Talented bowler with all the attributes and should definitely be in the test team. Disappointed with his progress he is still too impatient and because of that he is too inconsistent. The test for Broad is when he puts in the great performance he is more than capaable of then following it up with another.

25 years of old, didnt play much county cricket and has had to learn his game in international cricket.

World Class talent (who only the English could want dropped)

whats that test level coz tres is a test class player

My mate Anth got Richie Richardson out with a lovely little away swinger for 33. Is your point about Broad getting Trescothick out the most melodramatic nonsense of all time. Broad is a good bowler and as a test cricketer he is capable of getting quality players out on any given day.

The problem with Broad is with an average of 36 in test cricket he doesnt do it anywhere near enough as yet.
