His ODI average is about the same as his test average, while I'll admit I was surprised at when they showed it today. He's not a poor one day bowler, but he can be expensive and not very good bowling at the death.

Ricky Ponting scored a 100 in the 2009 Ashes in the first test at Cardiff.

Without cheating, considering his test average, how many 100s has he scored since then including the last Ashes?

Mike Hussey had scored one test 100 in 12 tests leading up to the Ashes.

Australia were ranked number one in the world in May 2009 and are now ranked joint 4th with Sri Lanka......were once a great test side are now poor and will get worse b4 they get better

Just cos he's doesn't have too many hundreds recently doesn't mean that he's not brilliant.

no it just means his powers are on the wain which are they and instead of being the best batsman about with Sachin he is now a mediocre test player capabel of the odd majestic innings but lacking the consistency he once had as age catches up with him

mediocre isnt a word to describe one of the best batsmen ever. 'Mediocre' would be someone like Colly
