Meet at club 5:45 for a 6:15 start if possible please.

Could have made this game with ease, finished at fower thirty. Will try and pop down.

Canny win like, gonna have to research that stumping, bizarre.

a good win, it was a decent effort with the ball just a shame about the wides. A good runout by Butsy helped as there opener was decent and a tremendous stumping by Stew. Not going to single out any bowlers as they all bowled well.

Butsy 4-0-32-1 (figures were harsh on butsy as the lad played well and his last two overs went for just 3 runs)
John R 4-0-21-1
Jordan 4-0-21-2 (11 runs coming in wides and 1 a no ball)
Gav 4-0-11-0 (7 coming in wides a shame as that would have been impressive figures)
Andy W 2-0-17-0
Edd 2-0-15-0 (didn't like getting smashed off that young kid)

John batted really well and both me and him got us off to a decent start then John and Paul finished with just under 3 overs left.

Edd 30
John 63 not out
Craig L 1
Paul C 13 not out

Houghton 2nds now into two semi-finals one against East Rainton on Thurs 14th July (away) and the other w/k commencing the 18th July against either Wearmouth or Burnhope (away). Get this in your diaries lads

My take on it is that the initial breaking of the stumps was not out. However the rules state the stump must be knocked over or taken out, which we did. In this case the ump was wrong and the batsman was out.

According to Wikipedia rule 28 says:

If however both bails are off, a fielder must remove one of the three stumps out of the ground with the ball, or pull it out of the ground with a hand or arm, provided that the ball is held in the hand or hands so used, or in the hand of the arm so used.

Well done lads ! the board will be coming down with cup fever soon.
Well batted john lad great knock in 20/20 that like.

:-D

Stumping for me was not out, initially. The umpires then stopped watching what was going on so couldn't give a decision. Therefore sadly its not out.

Well done all.

Which is poor umpiring all round in my book as the ball was still live - shite umpiring in fact.
