Striker
in the coffin for Test cricket

Tendulkar, Sehwag and Khan not playing in the test match versus West Indies

(they cant all be injured)

or just contempt for the abysmal standard of some test nations

England took a weakened team to Bangladesh last year and the Windies aren't a much higher standard, so with an important series coming up I dont blame India for resting a few key players (especially when they are 32, 32 and 38 years of age).

They also probably though they could just turn up and win, although that's not exactly gone to plan at the minute.

bloody hell comparing Bangladesh to the once mighty West Indies

What a say day for test cricket as a product

It is for TC but in the short to medium term its good for Cricket followers b'cos it shows ST is planning to continue in both Tests and 1dayer's for the foreseeable future, in particular the upcoming England series

hasnt ST be managing his tennis elbow for the past few years, remember him having an operation on it a while back (tho might have been his shoulder in '06), the continual grind of cricket would obviously have a negative effect and he doesnt want to risk missing a test against England in wht i would assume to be his last tour here (then again ppl thought this about his last tour here!)
