Stuart Broad

There doesn't. Sometimes players very badly out of form have to be dropped to refocus their game.

Broad is simply not good enough to warrant a place in the team at the moment and very rarely does look good enough. His figures are there for all to see.

or maybe class acts need to be shown support when they have a dip in form

'very badly out of form' - he has only played 2 tests in 6 months

you dont have talk some shite man, how can you be badly out of form when he has barely played

I'd give him the first and possibly second test against India to try and find some form, as there is every chance he could regain form in the ODI series in between, however he does very much look like the weak link of the bowling attack now and it's quite worrying as he's never been prolific at test level despite being in the team 4 years.

In his last 5 test matches hes taken 8 wickets for 500 runs at 64 a piece and to think you thought it comical that Jimmy took wickets at 45 a piece in 4 consecutive test matches once.

Broad is out of form but it doesnt take much to improve. If they felt Onions was ready i would probably give Broad a rest because Onions is also a very good bowler but either way Broad will be back - hes a good player.

I'm not sure how someone who averages 36 with the ball and 27 with the bat is a "class act" to be honest mate.

He has played 36 tests now and those stats dont scream "class"

Talented boy, but now at the time he needs to start delivering. And he hasn't done regularly.

time to drop golden boy I'm afraid. bowled 18 overs today against predominately tail enders in these conditions and hasnt even got a wicket yet. Just because his dad played for England he shouldnt be in the squad.

Broad out, Finn/dernbach/onions in please

Said it weeks ago on here but got shot down.

would that be two in Australia before he went home with a side strain and the three in this test after returning from two serious injuries during the winter/spring

Whats Broads test bowling average and strike rate?

How many wickets has he taken in how many tests?

The answers will show you that he has failed to materialise his early promise and potential.

You ask of showing him support? Why? When there are far better fast bowlers in our locker who haven't been shown half the love showered on this 'golden boy'.

England seem to insist on him being the 'bang it in' bowler of the attack. He is a good bowler, but not the type that roughs up batsmen with consistently short bowling.

When he bowls a decent ful length with the odd bouncer he is a much better bowler.

He is also badly ot of form/match sharpness at the moment, but others playing well are covering it right now. Swings and roundabouts since before long Broad will do well when others struggle. That's why it's a team game.

broad used to be more valuable when he was in the side as an all rounder. if he didnt take wickets he could put some runs on the board. however, now that it seems we will always go with the extra batmen his runs become much less important and now he is there simply to take wickets (which he isnt).

broad is getting back to fitness and is basically trying to regain form in the test side, whereas years gone by, he would be bowling for notts to gain form

i also think the injury to bresnan, has meant broad being made to do this in the test team, as i think he would have been left out of this series, to prepare for the india series

imo having seen a little bit of onions, i would not be looking to bring him back into the test side yet either

dunno like, he has looked pretty accurate to me marra. a skiddy bowler who bowls in tight to the stumps, and makes the batsmen play could be what we need.

also lets not forget Broad is not only used to take wickets with the new ball but he is also asked to rough batsman up with short pitched bowling, doing the work of two bowlers which is why his bowling average has sufferered.
I wonder what bowling figures he would have if he could just pitch it up all the time like Jimmy' ONE TRICK PONY' Anderson

Perhaps Jimmy cud start taking on more resposiblity with the ball and being more diverse rather than just pitching it up and leaving it to others to rough batsman up

This sounds like the Darren Bent argument all over again, apparently he was crap because he 'just scored goals', now it seems Jimmy is crap because he 'just takes wickets'.

Essex boy is really scraping the barrel now. He's only been used as this 'enforcer' very recently; and even when he pitches the ball up he doesn't look like taking wickets, or troubling top order batsmen.

Asking Anderson to mix his game up when it obviously doesn't suit him to bowl like that is about as ridiculous a statement as I've heard.

:lol::lol::lol:

Possibly the worst post in the history of the cricket board.

And that's saying something.
