time to drop golden boy I'm afraid. bowled 18 overs today against predominately tail enders in these conditions and hasnt even got a wicket yet. Just because his dad played for England he shouldnt be in the squad.

Broad out, Finn/dernbach/onions in please

Just out of form, just like Cook was before Australia. He has a stay of execution for now.

Looks like he needs so time back at Notts this summer to earn his test place back, too many good players around now for people to get a free ride in the England team. He has been woeful in this series, and was in Australia before he got injured. Onions in for me, wicket to wicket bowler that can build pressure.

I hope this is because you want Onions playing for Durham.

Yes mate, at the moment in his career, just comming back from a bad injury he needs to get some county games in him before he's unleashed back in the eng set up.

Also I reckon Shazad didn't do badly in his only test match, picked up a fifer iirc. Wouldn't mind seeing what hes about. Swings it at pace aswel, would give jimmy some help instead of ineffective Broad. A good varied attack that would be. KP also rated him when he was in the eng setup.

Totally agree, I hope he doesnt get called up this summer, but a season in the championship under his belt should be enough. I also think he is the perfect seam bowler for the sub-continent because he doesnt rely on the conditions or the pitch as much as anyone else in the England team.

As for Shahzad, I'm not sure. IIRC the conditions in that game favoured him, and it was the 3rd game of the series which we were already 2-0 up in against a piss poor Windies side. But he can bowl consistently at 90mph which is something no-one in the team can currently do, and should trouble batsmen even when it's not swinging.

why is it there is always someone who has to be dropped from the side

There doesn't. Sometimes players very badly out of form have to be dropped to refocus their game.

Broad is simply not good enough to warrant a place in the team at the moment and very rarely does look good enough. His figures are there for all to see.
