That part really isnt up for debate anymore.
It is though, because you keep changing what you're meaning. First you said the like button from this site, then you go on about other sites which I take it you mean Instagram and Facebook. You're meaning people's mental health due to likes (or not enough) on their photos or showing off what is a totally fake life and I do agree it's fickle and the reason why Instagram briefly removed that function.
This is a text based site and was the point of your thread. No one here is posting photos to get likes though, a like on a post is to acknowledge it or agree with it. You're getting likes on text based posts and likes on a picture site mixed up but the two are totally different.
Would you suggesting that a poster would have blood on his hands do more damage than someone giving a like on a message board?I have been following the reports for years, and witnessed mental health problems from family and relatives which confirms the studies.

Nature of living in the Western world mate.Well if you are happy to have blood on your hands, not sure how anybody is this day and age could come to such a conclusion.

No, my point is that your post was potentially far worse than the consequences of a function that you are trying to get rid of.eh? I think I was pretty clear
Ban text and photos then.Same issue tbf, text is even more brutal than photos.

How the fuck do you know? Not at all. The function is ever-present and detrimental, a post trying to get rid of it is well intentioned and really the right way to go.
Accusing another poster of having blood on his hands is hardly the right way to go and doesn't sound well intentioned at all - it sounds like you were trying to cause damage. Not at all. bog offHow the fuck do you know?
I could be self harming because of your hateful insinuation.
Could you link some scientific studies in reputable publications that say the 'like' button is the cause of these people's problems. I'm having trouble finding any.I have been following the reports for years, and witnessed mental health problems from family and relatives which confirms the studies.

Not one reputable scientific publication there. I've followed some links where they're provided to actual scientific studies and none of them match what you are saying.see the op
Not that fussed but since it really bugs the op I fall on the side of keeping it.
