Take Over O'Neils Derby day

So you organised a party at Trafalgar Square when it was closed for some concert before the cup final and now you're planning to "take over" a boozer that is closed for refurbishment. What s bunch man :D

The one by central station is closed for refurbishment at the moment, or at least it was when I walked past it last night. And it looks like it's not an O'Neills any more either, being redesigned into some other chain pub or something by the looks of it.

Boro get given a pub and get a police escort there.
It's a good idea though. O'neill's isn't very big though is it?

Not always. They turned up in 4s and 5s at Yates the 1-3 game. Kept it quiet til a good few hundred were in then let themselves be known. We were four of about twenty sunderland in there and left sharpish tbf

Is it even open at 9am on a Sunday?
Yes. No reason for us not to. All in early and more drinking time instead of choosing to get pissed about in sunderland.

I'm pretty sure the Police escort Boro to a pub or two.

Only cos they have all showed up by ten in the morning. If we did the same they put us in a pub rather than keep us in the station for three hours.

Oneills opens at 9. Metro leaves Park Lane at 8:11. Fill the metro and get in for opening time

This. Can't see why not. Less fart on and more drinking time.

It is possible to do and not illegal....but very provocative and would guarantee trouble, which I personally don't want to see. Now the Mags in fighting and breaking things in the 'toon' when they lose - that's my kind of trouble.

The mags have done it through here (ivy house) so don't see why we never do.

Bound to be escort man , if not what's to stop say 200ticketless fans going through and watching it in pub near central station ?! Doesn't add up

What's to stop that every year?

The actual pub isn't important you fat shite. Can you even remember what you planned when you were last in a cup final? (actually your cup final last year ended 0-3 and you smashed up ya own city )

Is there anything wrong with arranging to go to a pub though? If there isn't an official metro or train there shouldn't be a problem as long as everyone behaves.
Your right in principle. If they want to treat it as any other game now, any other away game and people would be on here saying what pub they're going to, so nothing wrong with it in theory. However this in NP we are talking about.

Let's get this right , arrange to meet in a pub that will be then surrounded by NP and the occupants will then be escorted to the ground to save the police giving the same fans an escort to the ground from the station..

Brilliant.

Loads more drinking time numb nuts.

So, If an email loop was set up would enough people want to actually go through for 9 you reckon?

And the police have said this it's fine for travelling fans to get there any way they want cos we're all best mates us and our black and White friends. Can't see any problems at all.

I doubt it personally mate. Not in an significant numbers anyway. Could see people going through, not getting in the pub and standing with our fingers up our arse. Sounds good in theory, but just can't see it taking off.

They put our fans in a pub last time in boro and then some daft fucker tried to set it alight.

Well I reckon they would do as they do with boro. Few hundred arrive early and put in a pub rather than allowed to lurk about on the street.

Soz, I was steaming.

On that Two Tribes doc it shows a bus load of Sunderland who tried but the police found out and intercepted it en route somewhere in Newcastle iirc.

Never going to get a few hundred together that early imo. Sure its no pubs open till 10 in both cities. Getting people together, getting in a pub over there, would be as much a hassle than just drinking in the town from 10, getting metro over and walking to ground. No official metro, should mean no hanging around outside Sunderland station or park lane either in theory. Our plan was always town for 10, few pints then metro and see no reason to change it tbh mate.

Went past today and it looked ready for business, forget what it's called, looked very traditional, black with gold, fuck knows what it will be like by the Monday after the game though!

Fair one. Wondering how boro sort it .

Other way around. Was mags. (If ya on about the removal van with them all in the back?)

I think as word spread there'd be enough like.

You reckon a couple of hundred on the metro to get through for nine via word of mouth?
