Something's not reet.

We released / sold some good, solid players, and we signed a huge amount of shite in the summer, mostly on very long term contracts.

We didn't address any of the areas we did need, and brought in loads of crap players who we didn't need. The squad is weaker.

We then sacked a good manager who was doing well, even this season, and replaced him with an obnoxious dullard who has never achieved anything, likes his teams to play shit football, and doesn't have a clue what he is doing.
Apart from those minor points you've highlighted, things are going tickety boo.

How can we go from a team of exciting young players that were playing lovely football, chasing and running at the opposition, with a great team spirit, to what we see now?.
It's got to be the coaching. Like him or not them kids thought the world of, or at least respected tony mowbray. Summit's not reet😉

Because KLD is a mag plant

A lot of people got carried away last year and thought that “the model” got us in to the play offs. The reality is that we got in to the playoffs despite the “model”, for a number of reasons:

1. Mowbray had these players playing above themselves
2. It was a weak championship - in something like 11 of the 12 previous seasons, our points total wouldn’t have gotten us in the top six
3. By that stage, Speakman hadn’t quite had enough time to fully get all of the experience and know-how out of the squad. He’s completed that sabotage job in the last three windows.
4. Most importantly, we had a 1 in a hundred loan in Amad, and he caught fire second half of the season.

Those things papered over the cracks which we can now all see (well, nearly all - there’s still a small group of hardy apologists lingering). You might obviously say “well the model signed Amad” - but if the model hangs in turning up a loan deal as successful as that one every year, good luck to us.

What we’re left with now is the actual reality of where this disastrous transfer “model” is leading - an unbalanced, inexperienced squad, led by someone who isn’t up to the job but ticked the two key boxes of (a) out of work/cheap, and (b) won’t ask questions/rock the boat.

In fact - we aren’t at the reality stage yet. Clarke having the season of his life is papering over plenty of underlying cracks this year as well. Even with him in the team, we’re mid table - to quite Speakman - “plodders”.

Mowbray was not backed in the summer and was sacked due to his frustration at lack of experienced CF and CDM. Then we got the cheap managerial option, which most fans knew was a downgrade.

The arrogance displayed by Speakman and Dreyfus is only matched by their incompetence, and this talk of constant improvement is total bullshit.
If I remember rightly, Mowbray wanted an experienced forward from Blackburn. I think his name was Dack!

Mowbray had much better attributes than beale in every way , he wasn't backed in more than one transfer window dispite the obvious short Fallings of the team.
And a team that played so well lost the buzz and enjoyment so evident.
Mowbray no doubt lost it too working under this regime.
Now we have a much poorer head coach so it's obvious things are gonna get worse and worse till its possibly too bad to rectify with the clubs existing plans.

I dread a Clarke-less season. Fecked!

The recruitment this year to blame. Beale not the right man either for me, but we’ve been crap this season under Mowbray too imho. Huddersfield at home we were abysmal.

And what's gonna happen in summer when he needs to replace Clarke, Ballard, Neill n Patterson plus a few youngens who have lost belief in the future they were told about .

Buy a load of kids from France
BUY   we will never know how little these grifters spent abroad.A good example is Ouchsheet or whatever he is called was so bad his club cancelled his contract and chased him. Most of the signings would be free or negligible fees, all were being tracked by major clubs according to the club, who i wouldnt believe if they said day was light and night was dark. All of European clubs at any level stepped aside to allow SAFC to have them all because they like us.

The play-offs last year were a bonus. They weren’t part of the plan and increased expectations. If they wanted to go up last season, they would have replaced Simms and Stewart. There was no positivity pre-season, they were just dampening our expectations. They’ve spent this season trying to make sure we hang around in this league. Yet, somehow we still aren’t out of it.

This for me too.
Recruitment for me too. But it's not so much who've we have bought, it's who we haven't.

Yesterday: midfield Jobe 18, Neil 22, Ekwah 22. (Neil has a good experience for a 22 year old, Ekwah doesn't)

Front three: Clarke (a veteran) 23 , Burstow 20, Mundle 20

Not what you'd call an experienced player apart from one CB.

Signed a load of kids. Of whom barely any start.

We’re not a play offs team, having no striker of championship quality was always going to catch up with us and now it has.

Injuries also haven’t helped. A fit and firing Roberts is key to this team given how little quality we have. And you have to feel for Huggins, Alese and Cirkin.

With money being tight I also just don’t understand what the thinking was around extending Evans contract.
