Playing at South North again -Wed 27th July.
Go down like a lead balloon with some on here.
And so it should. An absolute abomination of a decision by DCCC. I've already emailed them to ask for a refund on my 2016 membership.
Obviously helped the coffers last year. Funny how mad people get over lines on a map.
Once upon a time the entire north of England(cumbria aside) was the kingdom of Northumbria
First world problems or what.

Well it's not even in a county as such. My point about people getting wound up over imaginary lines that have changed throughout history. It's a seperate county, plenty of out grounds in Durham they could play at
As a season ticket holder I don't agree with it, just my opinion mind.

Obviously not as benefical in terms of money to hold at a ground closer to CLS. Which at the end of the day is the main issue.
Durham need new players that's what people should be getting irate about.
Fair enough mate. No right or wrong really. Can't help how I feel like, it just doesn't sit well with me to be honest.
Why? What reason has been given? Wasn't last years fixture to celebrate 100 years of the South Northumberland club?
Didn't realise 101 years was a landmark.
2 years ago was for the 150th anniversay yes, no such reasoning this year. Can only imagine that Durham deemed it such a big success that they want to go back again. I guess the indoor facility there allows for hospitality etc so they aren't losing out there by moving away from the riverside.
can't imagine they've just thought 'fuck it, we'll go back to south north this year'. Guessing there has been some thought gone into the decision both cricket and monetary wise.
101 might not be a landmark but it cleans a big big carpet. Why? What reason has been given? Wasn't last years fixture to celebrate 100 years of the South Northumberland club?

Durham hunt Newcastle support
Durham will return to South Northumberland CC for a Royal London One-Day Cup match against Warwickshire this season. South North's ground is less than three miles from Newcastle city centre and Durham hope the match - on July 27 - will allow the club to engage with a new audience. The county have played in the past at Gateshead Fell, a similar distance from Newcastle centre.
Above taken from Cricinfo. Bold sums it up, find it pretty shameful if you ask me. How about taking a game to Durham City or Darlington or Sunderland before Newcastle? Actual county towns/cities.
