The fans were very good. But at the moment they and their team still have desire, fighting spirit and a sense of adventure. If they're still like that at the end of the season when they've had a few batterings and a demoralising run of defeats (which happens to all bottom half clubs) then I'll be impressed.

Whether u like it or not these days it actually takes fans to be organised and to put effort in to make an atmosphere in England (due to all seating and ott stewarding).
The palace lot were superb and have been for a good few years now. They got a good 200 or so lads together, all of the same mind set and got seated together. They then didn't allow the stewards to win as they all stuck together and didn't let people get hoyed out (there's plenty of info on the net about all the bother between them and the club in the first few years). Now they pretty much can do as they please.
They also put shit loads of time (and money) into organising meetings, making banners, dishing out flags in the ground etc. you will also notice they have lads facing the crowd so people know what's being chanted when and they use a drum so chants aren't ruined by ending up so quick they end up sounding like a rave song (which means the chants go on for much longer).
We will have made more noise at the sol simply due to numbers but we haven't had as good an atmos for continuous singing like they have down there.

Interesting how they are allowed to jump up and down, move sideways etc and yet our lads are ejected for merely standing still.

Much easier to create a good atmosphere in a small tight ground
They did sound class like, but if you put the south stand in a 23k seater it would be amazing
