I don't think they could afford him within financial fair play restrictions. Also not sure Neil has won that amount of credit to be given big bucks. The Stoke fans don't seem convinced by Neil at all.

All managers would leave for better pay and conditions. Neil was superb for us last season - without him we’d have been playing in L1 again now.

I’m sure the perceived lack of ambition was also a significant reason for Alex Neil leaving but the way he did it in being seen in the stands watching Stoke while still being an SAFC employee was unforgivable.

For that reason if no other I’d not welcome him back here.
