2nd season back in the championship after 4 years in league 1, most hoped we would avoid relegation last season but somehow we made the playoffs with some luck and we probably over achieved, this season still no experienced striker, a mess on and off the pitch, the Beale appointment too which messed us up but the last few games we have steadied the ship so another season in the championship is better than another season in League 1! You must be gutted we not still in with a chance of relegation :lol:

I'm 59 and we've spent more of those years in "the lower leagues" than we have in the top one. It really isn't new, it's just that expectations are less realistic in an age where everybody thinks they deserve everything.
We're exactly where we deserve to be... for now.

Somewhere down the line we'll go back up and then go back down.

A lot of supporters in their mid-30s or younger will have experienced 16 years in the PL and another 6 where we were in promotion battles in the Championship so that is the standard and expectation for them. Those of us much older than that have many more lows to compare current performance to! 🤣 We'll get back there but it's not as easy as many seem to think.

So if they're mid thirties and have seen 16 in the premier league, that's still more or of it than in it. 🤔😉

True, depending on when they were born of course. But in most of the other seasons we comfortably in the top of the Championship. That's where the mentality that we should be a PL club or should be bossing this league comes from!

Its going to be a high points total to stop up though.

After the 6th loss in a row and scraping a point at home to QPR we were on 48 points, and it genuinely felt like we would be lucky to get another win all season.

Thankfully we turned it around somewhat, but even at the time plenty were talking about 48points easily being enough to stop up.

Currently teams need 45/46 to be out of the bottom 3 and thats with 3 games left still to play.
