Not for the opposing teams I would imagine, especially if the Durham lads don't play against their nearest rivals.
Good for local cricket and for league players to test themselves against better players. Always gonna be luck of the draw as to when they'll be available.

Also good for spectators, who can go along and maybe take their kids to see professional players play for free at local grounds.

Yeah understand good for spectators and their kids, really good point.

Don't think good for local cricket as
think unfair you could work hard all season to contest for the league, and it could get scuppered,by in your words the luck of the draw,(depending on when the Durham players happen to play)

Think the system is more for the county to keep their players active and competing rather than for the good of local cricket mind

Every team has the same opportunity to sign a Durham player for the season, knowing their play time will probably be limited, so its a level playing field.

There's too many other variables throughout a season though, so you cant say just this could 'scupper' a team.

Anyway, if you are not doing anything today, you could do worse than seeing Arshad play at Ashbrooke or Rushworth at Washy ;)

Didn't say just this could supper a team, said it was a possibility that the situation could happen and if it did,IMO that would be unfair.

Maybe just me mate but if my team was level on points in the league with 2 games to play off the season and a high class first class cricketer rocked up for the opposing team who had maybe played 1 or 2 games all season and he scored a 100 against us to stop us winning the league, don't think I would think it was for the good of local cricket.

Understand some of your points, especially some cricket fans watching players they otherwise would not be able too,but the system is set up for the county not the good of local cricket.

You can't really say in one post it is the luck of the draw then in another say its a level playing field

Sunderland chased down 250 in 38 overs with only 3 down against Seaham Harbour. 100* for the pro, and 50* for Arshad.

Seconds bowled Tynemouth out for 70 and won by 8 wickets.

APCC academy at the Lintz tomorrow in the HLSL Div 1 - weather permitting

Should be a good game

Absolutely spot on the premier league and everything that goes with it have ruined local cricket. Much better when we had the senior leagues. local cricket is simply there for the benefit of the county.

Yep don't know if it has ruined local cricket, that going a bit too far, however Durham players playing in the NEPL is for the benefit of the county, certainly not for the benefit of local cricket.
