Catts the best DM in Europe?

Those teams tend to have the ball a lot more because opposition sits deep against them, so it's not really surprising that they don't have as many interceptions, tackles, clearances, etc

Barca and Bayern usually have around 70-75% possession!

Ha, ha, ha!!! This is a new level of fickleness and rose tinted glasses even for us fans!

He's one two footed challenge away from a lengthy ban and being the villain again but let's enjoy it whilst his form lasts!

Strange, not like you to find a negative in anything SAFC,.

to be fair, he has been sublime and its nice to see hes finally get the recollection he deserves.

none the less, bellends on this board still like to have a gan

It would have to be matic..imo.
However when you have the likes of Fabregas, Hazard, alongside and the players like Terry, Cahill behind you , the job is easier.
Catts has rarely if ever had really good players alongside him.
I think one ( of the ) reason he gets carded so often is that he plays in teams that are regularly being overrun and he tries to do it all.
Interesting to see how he'd go in a team like city, united or Chelsea.
He has a fine range of passing on his day as well

Go away with your logical and reasonable arguments! This is the SMB!

The lad has played regularly in the Premier League since he was 17, captained every club he's played for and played at all levels for England (except senior thus far).

Every manager he has had has recognised his ability, winning attitude and positive mentality, (including PDC eventually). We have a very good player playing for us here, one who regularly bosses the midfield against the top teams in the Premier League.

One of the best in Europe? Not for me, but a very good player. Certainly worth celebrating him for a moment, after yet another massive performance against a world class midfield.

Totally agree. Yes, he plays on the edge but so what. He needs to play like that and his best displays are when be his 100% into the game. His temperament has improved, will we see a lapse again? Probably. He shouldn't be dragged through the coals for it though, it is who he is. He is going on the positive direction and its massively impacting the teams ability to pick up points.

Cattermole has been excellent this season and deserves every credit that comes his way however he is a defensive midfielder, and does that extremely well,I would not say that means he bosses the midfield.

I'm not saying I don't agree, but surely if this was completely the case there'd be more "lesser" DMs in the top 5 than just Catts?
