Certainly not strength in depth or genuine competition for places.

Next job for congers is moving some of the crap on in the next 2 windows.

With having these players in the squad, this is a ideal chance to get the young'uns away on loan and gain some experience.

That 200k + an extra 80k we can increase the wage budget by could make for a very interesting summer next year (if we stay up like). Especially if we don't sign Toivanen and we presumably wont be signing Yedlin because their wages will be included in this years wage bill. (Im guessing we will be taking our option on M'Vila if things continue as they are)

Would honestly only keep watmore and johnson (if possible) from both of them lists. Until you see it like that you don't realise how much crap we have on our books :eek:

I think Gooch is out of contract next summer as well. Congerton needs to get him and Watmore sorted.
 
I hope to God that top of Congerton's list is getting Watmore tied down to a new deal. He is getting more and more exposure and no doubt there will already be agents in his ear about how much he could earn elsewhere. This has to be a priority for the club

As you say it's disturbing and we are a long way off of having a stable squad. when you add the loanees in it is obvious that we will, once again have to recruit heavily next season just to stand still. If 2 or 3 of the youngsters can make the break through and establish themselves as contenders to start games it will be a real bonus. Congerton has some important decisions to make in the next couple of months to ensure that they develop properly
 
We need a 25 man squad of Prem level players and we don't have that yet.

There are exceptions but anyone who played a part in our escape last season can obviously still play a part this season if only as back up.

The problem is not getting rid of them it's keeping them motivated.

Don't agree with that at all tbh. The wage bill would be through the roof, we wouldn't be able to keep them all happy and there would be no room for youth to get a chance. We need a strong squad of 18-20 and use academy products to fill the other spots.

Could AJ turn over a new leaf if legal problems behind him. I am saying Yes thus offer him a contract before the trail with clauses into it if it does not go his way.

Did you see the clip of our bench against Norwich and Swansea?

We've recruited, which is a start, some of the freeloaders will leave in the next two seasons and there are still a further imho, 10 plus players to come in and replace them to make a competitive, decent squad. It's an awful legacy we are in the early stages of overturning.
