Whatever your viewpoint about what is going on at Sunderland Association Football Club right now, no one can honestly deny that the negativity surrounding the club is escalating at a frightening pace.
The ownership group headed by KLD need to act to stop it spiralling out of control or common sense tells you our better players will all be looking to leave as soon as they can, with their agents telling them that if they want to further their careers they cannot stay at a club where ambition and an urgency to get into the Premier League seems remote at this current moment in time.
A thread on RTG yesterday where it was highlighted that we could field a stronger team in league one than we can at this present moment in time should have the alarm bells ringing for the decision makers. The post play off feelgood factor that created a buzz amongst fans and has the club attracting 40k plus crowds is quickly evaporating due to poor results/performances, substandard recruitment, the loss of decent players who have been replaced by inferior ones or, in some cases, not replaced at all.
Then the appointment of a head coach whose name appeared out of the blue and who was unpopular at his previous clubs, was out of work and cheap and wasn’t allowed to bring any of his own staff in which is unusual. Results and performances under Michael Beale have seen the club go backwards at an alarming rate. Yesterday we saw him seemingly blank a handshake from a substituted player.
Then there’s unhappiness about the farcical events surrounding the NUFC cup tie that haven’t been properly and honestly answered, club shop/merchandising, ticket office and state of the SOL etc..
Where and when is this frighteningly rapid decline going to end and just who is in charge at SAFC, KLD or Kristjaan Speakman?
