In need of a deload, but going to persist with the rest of this week and next week then just deload when I go away for a week.

To put it into perspective, regular singles felt slow today with what I could pause for a beltless double during meet prep.

That's to be expected with you doing big volume though innit

Sometimes as a warm up never done it properly but I imagine it'll be good for core strength
Yeah that lift is my nemesis, I'm going to start mega light and start working up in a stronlift style, maybe add weight weekly though to let the shoulder muscles get used to it!

Deadlifts eh, hate them me, my knees are sore after today deadlifting, I usually do so sumo, is there any obvious reason without a video that might explain why it hurts yet squats feel like walking.

Got to the gym a couple of hours later this morning and ended up training as two very experienced lifters. They were pulling off blocks and I couldn't be fucked getting another bar out so just went along with that. Moderate intensity week for me on deads so worked up to 220kg x 3 which was very comfortable. Happy with that as I hate blocks

It's a lot more common for people to hit their knees with the bar on sumo deads? Seen quite a few end up having knee valgus during sumos too

Last session before my deload, 227.5kg for a single and then a triple. Nice way to end things

Operation 600lbs is underway. Will be nice to tick 6 plates off the list on the way too

Close grip benched 100kg last night (paused, of course) for the first time.

Don't feel like that de-load did me any good mind. Feel more knackered than usual after a 5, 5, 5+ week.

That happens sometimes and aside from any physical reason such as diet sleep hydration etc after a deload sometimes you can get a bit nervous because you expect to be breaking PRs.

So my week off is over, ready to train again but back in Sunderland. Anybody fancy a few sessions?

I'm also doing a bit of free personal training for the short time I'm up, as Sunderland seriously seems to lack personal trainers who know how to teach people how to perform compound movements well. So anybody interested in that, let me know

Where you training? I'm deloading next week but I might sack it off especially for deadlifts

I'll probably do a couple of sessions at Cleveland road since its 60 seconds from my house but heard Fitness 2000 is probably my best bet for certain sessions

I'm going to be up from the 29th/30th to the 2nd or 3rd. Everything has been a bit fucked up though as my Mam and step dad are getting divorced and shit has hit the fan. Not ideal training wise but I need to see my Mam is alright and be there for her. I will do what I can when I can and just scran relentlessly to not lose any weight.

Will train anywhere to avoid having to use Bannatyne's, which is the nearest gym to my Dad's in Gilesgate when I finally get up.

On a progress note. 100kg bench is now becoming a reliable lift I can always hit, even when fatigued. I'm pleased about this.

Just finished training. First session back after a full 9 days off. Didn't feel fantastic but plenty of bench volume.

Canny little session close grip bench session today. Bumped in to @luvulongtime again and had a bit craic on. Deadlifts tomorrow if anybody wants to come along?
