LVCC - Durham v Northants

Over moon for Rushy. Great lad and put in the hard yards after being released. Shows what a bit of hard work and determination can do for ya!

It was a great day for Durham CCC, incredible bowling display by all our bowlers, Rushy was the one who came away with the honours, but I suspect he had the better end. Aaron looked canny quick and was unlucky not to pick up a couple of wickets in his first spell. Stokes looked quick and Chase joined in the fun albeit very briefly.

From a couple of posts on here, I defy anyone to have seen how badly Northants would collapse, not just once, but twice. Colly was determined to get a win, and the team ethos throughout was to post a good score, and pick up points. The score had to be competitive enough to guarantee forcing a follow on, and a target of 400 was about right. Remember, we had two batsmen who scored centuries and Northants certainly had a couple of batsmen who were capable of the same feat.

The Pedigree must have taken over during my enthusiasm as I was sure that the score board credited Rushy with seven wickets in the second innings!! But it turns out it was only six ..... Anyway, an incredible performance, individually as well as collectively. The team spirit going into the final must be massive!

Really pleased for chris, he is indeed a smashing lad , still makes his way to you to speak etc , no pretence to him at all . Never ruined as a young un by believing he was " county big balls" . " A massive lads fan too

90-9 now.

I have to say this has shown up Colly's poor captaincy. We clearly had enough runs when we got to 200 yesterday and to prat about wasting time getting another 180 odd could have cost us this game. Needs to take a long hard look at himself I reckon.

aye, you would never have championed batting to 400 when i said 350 would be enough eh? ;)

What an incredible afternoon. I haven't done a second of work since... erm... 1983.

back when a job was a job then like
