Unlucky mate, you were running well too. I have rested my sprained toe gor a week now, should be ok for XC Satda. Must admit i like the lazy weeks!!
Cheers mate , happened while racing so couldn't really pull up but in hindsight should have ... Good luck sat XC, be next year now when I get to try it, the missus is running it so may go n watch with no match on , good luck to any SMBers doing it

Ha ha, ta. Though that was brutal today - like running in wet cement. Were you there today ?

Good to seen dan doing a rare XC today too :)
Dan turned up in red sunglasses , it's like harem round him mate ..
The wife was running so I went along to watch , I did shout your REAL name mate but you must have been in the zone , looked tough but would love to have done it still. Most won't know but 3 Morpeth lads missed the start and came pelting over about a minute or 2 after the fast pack had already left , then powered through the field was amazing to see.

Not too bad for not feeling 100%, outstanding running by Magic like, that time in those conditions is brilliant bearing in mind 10k mostly in ankle deep mud!!
Proper XC there like. You'll be back soon Fletch, swimming is great for fitness, wish I could do it but i hate it!!

Did the Jean Bouin 5k this morning, unusually cold and windy, managed 20:34, the firs 3k in under 12 mins, turned a corner an 2k into the wind, it was cutting. Still not bad for a 48 year old fat lad.

It was sunny, plus I'm cool as. I absolutely hated it. Not bothered if I don't make another one. Just used it as a training run in the end, my weight just dragged me further in the mud.

Our running club took part in our first one yesterday. Must admit I have no fancy for it myself. Doesn't look my cup of tea at all plus I work a fair few Saturdays anyway. Just looks a bit to chaotic for my liking

I did wonder about that. . Carl Avery passed me on second lap, could swear I didn't see him at the start :) Must be getting too easy for them!

Is your Mrs in Dan's harem :D

Tried a nice slow 10k this evening with one eye on the game starting live on Bien Sports, 5k downhill 5k uphill, finished in 41:57, I'm well chuffed, not bad for a fat lad, especially after my 5k race yesterday.

Easy weekend of running so opted for a 10 mile run last night home from work at close to full pace. Despite some stops and starts and the pitch black I was done in 62 minutes. Definitely could break an hour or 80 mins for a half. Shame I have no races til February! Might try a 10 miler on my own at the weekend and try to break an hour..

Having a look myself but thought I'd see if anyone on here knows of any decent ultras 30-50 mile ideally, between January and March next year? Going away in April for a year and would like one more race to keep me focused rather than just plodding along with no real focus in my training.

Early bird prices for Sunderland 10k and half expire on Monday. Sign up over the weekend if you want to do it.
