Brass monkey is fast, but I never liked it this year as it was really icy.
that will always be problem with that race, weather may well be shite. Also I guess most people tend not to be in top shape just coming off Christmas n new year

Some stroller, Jon Davies, on FB saying they're to announce tomorrow the sunderland urban ultra on 7/11/15. This could be a winner!

The race was ran last year but only open to stroller with around 35 people running it. This year ( a bit of a late call) its going to be open to all. Entry is getting sorted but will be via form rather than on line sadly. Form will be on the stroller page later.... i hope. ps - this year they are doing a relay option so 17m ish each leg. Best part is it finishes at the club bar !!

that 's really late in the day to organize though I suppose you have the route sorted and there must be plenty of strollers to man the CP's.
Is there a route map anywhere?
any idea on cost?

That's right up my street but unfortunately I'm signed up for the Manchester marathon on the same day as the first event

Will probably sign up for a couple anyway as I really enjoyed Penshaw this year.

Brilliant mate, for the league you have to do 4 events out of the 7 of which one has to be P8 half marathon. Obviously if you do more than that they your best 4 results will count :)

Did a medium paced 5k to the centre of Barcelona to buy the paper, not bad after a couple of weeks off with a bad chest, 21:28.

Really chuffed! Finally got a pb at parkrun this morning, was 38.06 nearly a year ago and I got 37.52. I know this is super slow compared to you lot but I'm delighted that my training with harriers is starting to pay off :):)
Do you have a short cadence?

Do you have a short cadence?

Yeah, I'm hoping it will improve with more training, I need to lose some weight which will help too.

I found the older I was getting the shorter my cadence was becoming so I started to do fartlecs, a quick 500 meters then a slow 500, do this 10 times and really stretch your legs, I improved my running times with that as well.

Keep up with it, running really is rewarding.

Well done on beating your PB.

Looks excellent, don't think I'll do the league as will probably do Nottingham again and that clashes with the Penshaw half.

Will the Washington trail be the same route as this year?
