imo we should line up like this at lords

roy, hales, moeen, morgan, stokes, buttler, willey, rashid, plunkett, wood, finn

5 pace, one a left armer, 2 spin. harsh on taylor but personally i think we are under using willey in white ball cricket

What a f***ing balls up after a great start.

I hope we have seen the last of Chris interesting Woakes

And Ali must bat three.
of course he should. the partnership with morgan the other day proved that.

i stand by my team above. having said that, i am getting a touch concerned about buttler. he is not playing as well in the last month and bairstow is waiting, after his series winning knock at cls

Woakes bowled fine of what I saw don't mind him as an ODI bowler has he has plenty of variety and certainly has better death bowling than most of em.

Wood hasn't exactly been a leading light for duham in list A. Willey should have been instead of him imo.

Two changes for me for the next game.

Out: Woakes, Buttler
In: Willey, Billings

Hoping that Buttler is just a bit fatigued and that he will be right for the UAE.

i named my team three posts above.

i think bairstow is unlucky not to be playing after his series winning knock at cls.

personally i dont think woakes is a better option than willey, who we are under using. he is a match winner and left arm arkward

Makes things happen mate, good quality to have in a cricketer

Not comparing them in the slightest, but Botham used to get a hell of a lot of wickets of bad, nothing balls, just the way he was, some players make things happen

Others like Woakes do 90% of things right, bowl tight, decent pace, but just don't take wickets or cause problems.

Thought Woakes bowled well at the death mind

How did we lose that ?

I think if he can bowl at 85mph+ consistently he could be a good bowler.

I know pace isn't everything but he doesn't look that threatening when bowling low 80's but is still quite consistent and never gets smacked all over.

he doesn't take wickets whatever pace though

Fair point. More about the variety of attack, step backwards with 3 medium fasts in

Yeah I think we could have a good attack with a lot of variety.

Right Arm - Wood, Finn, Stokes, Woakes, Jordan, Plunkett and Broad (if we don't retire him)
Left Arm - Topley and Willey
Spin - Rashid (Leg), Ali (Off), Tredwell (Off) and Ansari (Left Arm)

Obviously some are better than others but we have some good options there and a wealth of decent all rounders.

As you can tell I'm bored!

Nothing frustrates more than Woakes mind, I just don't get his purpose

He's had enough chances, might aswell lets somebody else have a go, Coles from Kent is my shout. I think that lad has a little bit of something about him to justify a call up.

I'm inclined to stick with Buttler for some time yet tbh,

Woakes isn't good enough.
