RTG Getting pop-ups, Audio, redirects, ads overlaying text, malware reports from ads please read this

The site is so sluggish at times on my android. Haven't had any redirects in a while though.

  1. The Network(s) you see the problem on (if any)
  2. The advert which is causing the problem (if you can identify this)
  3. The type of device you are using (desktop PC, Tablet, Mobile) and if tablet/mobile the orientation of it (portrait/landscape)
  4. The browser and operating system you are using.
  5. If you are using a mobile, which network are you using (EE, O2, 3, Vodaphone etc)
1. Network 1.
2. Unable to identity, was redirected to porn earlier today.
3. HTC One M9. Mainly portrait.
4. Chrome on Android.
5. EE, but also occurs over Wi-Fi networks.

Was getting linked to Uber in the Play Store every 2 seconds earlier. Will probably just stop using the site on 4G.

Still happening.

No, I certainly won't pay to get rid of the ads. I was thinking about becoming a contributor for the last couple of weeks, after that post I never will now.

The entire forum has been unusable on mobile data.

Yep, been on 4g all day and it's gone to a dodgy website every few clicks. Typically, as always, I've then clicked on the test network links in the first page of this thread (several times on each) and nothing happens. Today I've been redirected onto some porn site every few minutes of using the forum and if I accidentally click it'll charge me 9 quid, f***ing annoying

None of those tests give me any problems. Also was using wifi at the time. No problems for a few days now though.

iPhone?

I am going to try allowing only one ad-network each day on iphone/safari for the rest of this week.
Please report here at the end of each day whether you see any problems or not (first time this will be active is tomorrow) - NB this will only apply to iphone/safari comination.

Also those of you who are having a problem, it is equally important to let me know if a day goes by without problems, as I can then assume that network is a least temporarily clean.

I will be removing the cookie which restricts the ads you see from an individual network, which means that temporarily the problem might get worse when we find a rogue ad - but at least we should find out anyone who is sending them.

No redirects today on iPhone 5 and Safari for me.

Getting quite bad now - but only on this site, not on any others.

Some of this happening on the new summer riots thread on SMB, but also happening just by going onto page one of the SMB or even onto the helpdesk page.

What the fuck is this. One click away from getting charged. Ha way man, is this getting sorted ? It's been nearly 1 full year.

Redirected to mega play for a subscribed service of £4-50 a week.

Won't use it again on mobile network. It's not good enough really.

Can you
iPhone 5S in 4g. Impossible

It then goes flicks through loads and then ends up with the racing post in the App Store.

Can you confirm whether or not you were using the safari browser - I am testing this week, specifically for the iphone/safari combination to try to track the problem down.

@Wizards Sleeve can you confirm whether or not you have had problems in the last 24 hours (hopefully you have as that would identify one of the networks!)

@prehab26 can you confirm your device/browser combination? As stated above if its iphone/safari, things could well get worse this week as I attempt to identify the network as that combination is only receiving ads from one network at a time and I have removed the restriction on the number of ads sent to each user whilst tracking the problem down. Once I have identified the network(s) responsible, those networks will be stopped.

I have just changed the network again - this will take an hour or two two take affect, so please everyone with the iphone/safari combination let me know what happens this afternoon for the rest of the day.

I do not have an iPhone and do not see the problem myself, so am relying on accurate feedback from users to help resolve this.
