Wouldn't argue against Evans or Richards, still like the look of Lewis Holtby (boyhood Everton fan?) and he'd be a realistic option and I'd test the water with Kevin Mirallas, doesn't seem to get the starts he should under Martinez, he'd be a class signing imo.
Mirallas would be a brilliant signing IMO.

Jonjo Shelvey 14m
Jonny Evans 9m
Seb Coates 3m
Santiago Vergini free
Micah Richards free
Aaron Lennon 7.5m
Rafael van der Vaart free
Rickie Lambert 4m

Top 8. I've played champ man and all this is possible!

and we would have no chance
Not so sure, we'd probably he behind the London clubs and Southampton but the other 'middle 8' type clubs we strive to he like I think we could compete with, and don't forget the Dick factor! He'd probably be comfortable working with a Dutchman, it's not a kick on the arse off Belgium

Dick gets the fotty million he wants.

Micah Richards
Virgil Van Diijk
Jonny Evans
Lewis Holtby
Stewart Downing
Charlie Austin

Pantillimon
Richards - VVD - Evans - PVA
Cattermole - Holtby
Larsson - Downing - Johnson
Austin
Seb dropping in to make a midfield 3 with Johnson and Downing splitting to the wings, Easy this..

Jonny Evans
Ibe or Origi on loan
Dembele
Coates
Januzaj on loan
Delofeu
Austin, Ings obvious generic call
Richards obvious
Marcos Alonso
Garbutt from Everton
Yes it's more than 3

I still can't believe how overcome we were by Leicesters rapid midfield, just like their fans said we'd be......

Worst team I've seen at the sol for a while

:D

Evans, Adebayor and Dembele.

Dembele for me is a must this summer to go alongside Catts and Seb in the midfield. Excellent dribbler, can take players on and chip in with goals.

Adebayor is a proven goalscorer at this level and probably wouldn't come like but then again I thought Jermain Defoe would never entertain us and we friggin swapped him for Jozy Altidore!!

And Johnny Evans I'd love back at the club.

Anyone else got a top 3 for this summer?
Evans, Nani, Austin

I've just been reading Jonathan Wilson's biography of Brian Clough.
The main aim of him and Peter Taylor when buying players was to examine their character.
They always looked for proper professionals who trained and worked hard, gave everything for the cause, and had a skill set that added to the current team.
It wouldn't surprise me if Advocaat had a similar approach, and that is why I would love him to take the job.

And we would see at once that many of the players mentioned in this thread would never be considered.
Adebayor?
I nearly fell off my chair when I read that!
Ludicrous suggestion.

Not sure why Austin is mentioned. We have no chance in getting Austin. He and his agent will try and get Liverpool if not Southampton. Shane Long would be a decent shout for us tho.

I'd have had Adebayor as a loanee instead of Defoe. He'd be a daft permanent signing.

Unless we peddle Fletcher, I can't see us buying a new striker. Defoe is very expensive in terms of salary, and salary is our big FFP issue.

We need at least 5 first team quality players. It'll be an underwhelming summer, I suspect.

Virgil Van Dijk
Ron Vlaar
Arjen Robben
Rafael Van de Vaart
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar
Robin van Persie

and the SW Corner to all wear orange.
