The problem with PR is not being able to represent an area though, isn't it? If UKIP say get 13% of the vote (about 4,000,000 votes, or an average of 6,150 votes per constituency) how do they give them 85 seats in the House of Commons?
Wouldn't we have to either massively increase the size of the commons or do away with constituencies altogether?
You could do something along the lines of what the Scottish parliament does.
Have FPTP constituency MP's then additional regional MP's elected by PR
