I had one of these back in 2001/2002, almost exactly like that one. Loved it and would love one as a project to do up if I had the time.
Probably an SL ?Not sure which model it is but the long, flat convertible Mercedes from a few years back. A little like the last photo on the first post. Would love one of them.

Nailed on future classic marra, think it'll only the French who try stuff a bit different now,here's another that will be worth a bit in the future....
There does tend to be a common theme with old British classics mind!Unfortunately all the beauty flattered to deceive and they turned out to be overpriced rust buckets.
Mainly down to improved rust proofing I would think, so more recent cars should be a better bet to retain as future classics than the rust buckets of old.
