still puggled what to get lol. seems various, wish i`d never asked now lol. might just look at deals and price even though i am swaying towards PS4

Microsoft are constantly improving and adding things to the UI unlike Sony.. Ultimately there's not really anything between them. Ignore the ps4 is more powerful folk as the ps3 was more powerful than the 360 but only naughty dog studios got the best out of it. I'm a xone owner, had it for two months and it's a great machine.

I've got both & ps4 get's used more, x1 has the odd game i like (halo , sunset, is it worth it for just them)

wish I hadn't got x1 but i have, not sell as you never know whats around corner . ps4 has share play & that headset is to come

Well my xmas shopping lists includes 2x PS4 and 1 x xbox1 so could do with a heads up on any offers at the moment!

I'm still on the 360 me.
me too, I've got PS3 and XBox 360. The Xbox seems a better all round console at the minute as it has media straming and a better TV tuner for example, wheras the PS4 has the better reviews as a games console. Suppose it depends on your games choice, I'd miss Halo and Gears of War with a PS4 and Uncharted with an Xbox.

Good point, Project Morpheus is around the corner and is supposed to be very good.

Specs wise, they are both much of a muchness, however if you want it so that the kids can watch films and do stuff other than play games on get an XBox One.

If you want it primarily for playing games get a PS4. The Graphics and Memory in the PS4 mean that it will be better for gaming, also PS4 allows independent games developers (at the minute, XBox are moving towards it).

The only time you will really notice the difference between the two is is if you see the same game being played side by side. It is a strange twist in the console saga, as previously the PS3 was the better all rounder, but the XBox One has that now. Unfortunately, Microsoft killed it at launch by overpricing it by forcing people to have the Kinect at launch and with all the bad publicity about the second hand game market!!

Also Sony has the PS Vita which is great for remote play and I am really interested to see how it pans out with Project Morpheus and the VR Engine.

pretty much everthing the xbox does the ps does just as well or better. multi platform game devs are dumbing down their games so that the xbox can cope with them.

PS2 was the more popular machine.......people then moved to XBOX360 as it got off to a flying start and had more/better games available for it........for the same reason (plus its a better machine) people will move back to the PS4. Microsoft have made lots of mistakes in the way they launched XBOX One and PS4 has stolen a march that it will sustain by being technically superior with more game exclusives

The difference between the two consoles is less than any other games console generation. Both are based on exactly the same processor running the same operation, (ie x86 the same as PCS). Both run a similar graphics chip by AMD. Both have 8GB of ram, but the difference is the XBone uses DDR3 which is cheaper and slower than the PS4's GDDR5. The XBone does have 32mb of memory on the processor which in theory makes up the performance difference but programmers are reluctant to use it and its more work for them.

So in reality the console to pick is the ones your mates have so you can play online against them if you want. If you have no mates or aren't playing online then get the XBone as it has much better media features.

You have to pay to play online for both consoles now so the argument for the PS3 having free online play over the xbox360 payment, no longer applies.

This be bollocks ^.

Unfortunately, Microsoft killed it at launch by overpricing it

Speaking of which, just saw an Xbox One with FIFA for £290.

How much were these new gen consoles when they came out? £450? I remember saying at the time, for the kit inside them, they were a f***ing rip off - those parts are not much cheaper now than they were then, and they've dropped by a mile.
