I have heard he had a large heart attack 3/4 years ago and actually "died" then but they resuscitated him and that it was another that finally got him..............Just noticed this on Wiki
"On 20 November 2014, the body of Hesford was discovered. The cause of his death is not yet known"
Will the club send a tribute or something I wonderHesford's funeral tomorrow at Lytham.

I actually had a conversation with someone at work the other week about Viv Busby and I mentioned that he was dead. He hadn't heard it (obviously) and took my word for itMy favourite post of the day
I'd like to think so.
I didn't know Mel Holden had died aged only 26 as well. How bloody sad.The tragic death of Aussie cricketer Phil Hughes, and the recent passing of Iain Hesford got me wondering about which SAFC players from my time watching the Lads have passed away (ie from mid-60s). I'm sure I've missed a few since I've been in Australia, but off the top of my head I could only remember:
Iain Hesford
Mel Holden
Jim Baxter
Ian Porterfield
Tim Carter
Tim Gilbert
