I think me mate would have swapped with you ..I should have embarked on the RFA Fort Austin in Gibraltar, supporting HMS Illustrious on a world cruise in 1982 with 824 Squadron.
A signal came through that a conflict had started in the Falkland Isles and we stayed in Gibraltar...nee trip with "The Lusty".
Ha ha! The Fort Austin went South without us and we spent 6 months in Gibraltar, as there was worries about Russians in the Med!I think me mate would have swapped with you ..
