Because he's a good left back, obviously.
If you don't think he's good enough for us, then you're a berk.
He is good enough for us, I actually liked him.
However, a left back is a defender and he can not defend. He is caught out of position, is slow to tack back and struggles to tackle.
He has a decent shot, a lovely crosser of the ball and has a decent throw and maybe because over the years we've had a lack of a natural left footed player coupled with memories of Collins, Richardson, Colback and Bardsley ET al playing there, he didn't half flatter to deceive.
But you are correct. I am a "berk", but tend not to judge people on their opinions.
