ZWINGS - Sunderland’s new scooters…

Id say the future will be electric cars you don't own and can jump in pretty much anywhere and leave the same as and when you need transport.
So these are well ahead of the curve
I'll never use one due to having other transport but they're hardly pointless

Everyone just sees some knacker doing 30mph in their head . I see normal people commuting on . Some are clearly private but I hope the cops use common sense if it's a young lad trying to get to work . Not all work locations are bus friendly . Open to abuse just like Vauxhall corsas are .
The problem is that once you start being flexible with laws you run into problems

Speeding in a 30, 31, oh ok then, 32, aye go on ya little tinker, before you know it - it is 40.

Same with drink driving.

Once we draw lines in the sand we encounter problems with breaches of those lines.

But the lines still need to be there in a civilised society.

It could be worse that losing your driving licence. A couple of posters have told stories about crashing.

If you are drunk and crash into someone and kill them you could go to jail.

You don’t have to be drunk to use one you know? I used the neuron to nip up my mates, pop to town, visit me mam up hospital, pick car up day after and to have a ride out along the six with wife on nice day.

Indeed - I agree but we have been talking about the issue of using them to dot between bars and the possible implications of doing so.

Nipping up to the metro or using one to go to Latimers to get some fish yeah I get it completely.

Not really ,the cops do it everyday anyway
They dont overlook a positive alco reading but they'll say be careful after pulling you at 33 with a good excuse etc .That doesn't mean they get up next day and say 40mph is ok now
they are trained to read situations and act accordingly
They ignore stuff everyday, dodgy headlights,a street full of kerb parking ,etc
That’s not true. You can’t be expected to walk, run or cycle to London and back, but you are to the Stack from Grannie Annie’s.
Everyone's lazy but you
Uou've sussed the exact conditions for using all the various options of not walking just under the LAZYDAR official guidelines .The two lads i see regular at 7.10am heading to work are slim and motivated

Small lad about 9 riding a black e-scooter along holborn road today with an even younger lass on the back. Got to the roundabout where Chester rd is. This was about 4.30pm today. Their parents must be right knacker chavs. Bound to be the Biffa Bacons mutha type with folded arms looking miserable at the Sunderland echo photographerwhen little Rylan gets knocked down and she wants the speed limit reducing.

Hi
I’ve yet to venture on the new ones yet. It was mostly during lockdown when we were meeting down Roker I used them, but now we tend to meet in Fulwell there’s no point.
