ZWINGS - Sunderland’s new scooters…

BMX Bandit

Winger
Noticed the blue scooters this week popping up all over. I’ve the app but not yet to have a go. Anyone else used them and how do they compare to neuron ones we had ?
Noticed no monthly pass and that may put some off though single ride prices seem about the same.

Had a go on the Neuron ones once to get back home from town. Bit of a novelty. Wonder if they're used more by students.

Waste of time. You can’t use them if you are drunk so what’s the point.

I will use the car or walk but not risking the licence just to scoot along the beach after a few beers. And they are too slow. The scummers have the fast ones and they are really fast. Coppers could never catch them.

I was driving past the Hastings hill at 06:40 last week, and some absolute f***ing tool was lashing up the right hand lane on one of these. No lights, no protective clothing. How these things are allowed baffles me.
They are not allowed. Simple as that.
The parents who buy these for their kids want f***ing.
About time Mr Policeman Badger rounds up all these twats bombing about the place and sends the scooters to the crusher.

They’re set to be legalised in the near future.

If you download the app there is only two locations available to choose from currently.

Gloucestershire and Yeovil.

Dinnar if I can be arsed walking there to zip back along the seafront.

On the plus side there are parking spaces near mine on this service which will be handier for me. I used to have to walk a canny way to the nearest allowed location for the Neurons. These I can get from pretty much opposite my house.

Will use. Its a 3/4 from Mux.

I'll admit I used them last year at my mates wedding pissed as a fart to drop some stuff off at the hotel on the beach, didn't know it was illegal if you drove them on the path.

They're speed limited to 12mph like and fitted with lights. Anyone riding a private one is doing so illegally (for now anyway).

Serious question how are these legal but like of Xiaomi scooters illegal?
Are these council ones supposed to be driven on path or roads?
My kids are asking about them but notice the council have put notices up all over round our way saying illegal to ride e scooters on road or path.

Because they're heavily regulated and users need to register their driving licence in the app before using.

Private escooters are illegal to use on public roads and paths.

Cheers marra.

So when you rent one of these council ones does it ask for proof of drivers license?

Posted just before I asked that question about license. Cheers
