Anyone had dealings with these?
We were out of our house for around 5 months last year. My energy and gas provider at home is Shell, I've carried on paying my Shell direct debit while we've been out of the house and checking online I'm in credit with them. In the rental property I've been at, the energy and gas was provided by another supplier. Shell didn't know we were out of our house.
I handed the keys back for the rental property last week and yesterday I received a call from the letting agent to say the landlord had been in contact with them to say I've received a threatening letter from Zinc credit management saying they're chasing £81 on behalf of Shell but would accept a payment of a smaller amount to clear the account. Zinc sent this letter addressed to me but to my landlords address down in Kent!?
All very suspicious and sounds like they've phished my data, put 2+2 together and got 9736 . I've contacted Shell for written comfirmation they haven't instructed this company.
