Sunderland City Council has teamed up with the Sunderland Echo and the Love Where You Live Campaign to find out your favourite places in the city to photograph.

As part of the competition we are looking for enthusiastic people to take vibrant and inspiring photographs of their favourite places in Sunderland. We want to see photographs reflecting what makes you proud of Sunderland including activities, attractions and special events.

The winner of the competition will be treated to an exclusive experience at the Sunderland International Airshow, with two VIP tickets for Saturday 21 July (includes complimentary food and drink, a private viewing area of the flying displays, a souvenir programme and other perks). If you are 16 years of age or under you must be accompanied by an adult.

The criteria is up to two photographs per person. It is open to all ages (if you are under 16, please seek permission from your parent or guardian before you enter). Include your name, age, address and telephone number or email address with your entries.

You can enter by sending a printed copy of your photograph(s) to Tourism Development Team, Jack Crawford House, Commercial Road, Hendon, Sunderland SR2 8QR or email a maximum of two photographs per entrant to [email protected]

The deadline for entries is Friday 8 June (the judges will make their decision by June 30).

Word of warning - these are often a great excuse for these organizations to grab a load of images for nowt

saw this a couple of weeks back, not really fussed about the prize so i wont be entering like.

VIP tickets for a free event, woop de doo.

Cracking prize innit

It's merely that none of these councils are prepared to pay for photography anymore, as I know to my cost

Might take my 4yr old out with his Toy Story digital camera, and let him enter. He'd take pictures all day if the batteries would last.

"By entering the competition all entrants
grant Sunderland City Council and third parties the right to publish and exhibit
their photograph as well as granting the further rights to publish and exhibit their
photographs in print, on their respective websites or in any other media. No fees
will be payable for any of the above uses. Entrants whose photographs are one
of the finalists also agree to take part in post-competition publicity. While we
make every effort to credit photographers, including in printed reproductions of
their work, we cannot guarantee that every broadcast use of the photographs
will include photographers' names."
