August 1996 at Anfield. Went to the match with my Liverpool supporting brother. He was expecting them to hammer us but we held firm for a 0:0 draw, his face after the match was priceless.

Crystal Palace-24/8/85. The 3rd game of the fantastic start under Lawrie Mac where we lost the first 5 games of the season without scoring. We only got beat 1-0 here mind so the best result of the 5! I can remember it was very sunny and Clive Walker had a scissor like kick go just wide....that's it! I was 8.
Wasn't there but I was at Portsmouth the game before

Gary Rowell hat trick at the landfill. Fuck me what a day that was. One of my few memories as an 8 year old. Never thought for 1 minute almost 40 years later I'd still be hooked
Are you going to Millwall to see the bairn (Fin) as mascot marra?

Wembley 92 as a 3 year old.

1st 'away' game was Bristol City, 1st game of the season around 1994. Me and my Dad went and we drew 0-0. Stopped over and then went to see The Gladiators in Birmingham the next night.

What a weekend

11/03/1961 Rotherham. A 0-0 draw. Att: 10,588.

Teams:
Rotherham: Ironside, Perry, Morgan, Lambert, Madden, Waterhouse, Kirkman, Weston, Sawyer, Houghton, Bambridge.
SAFC, From our regular team we were missing McNab, Hooper, and you could possibly count Johnny Dillon: Peter Wakeham, Colin Nelson, Len Ashurst, Martin Harvey, Charlie Hurley, Stan Anderson, Jimmy Davison, Ambrose Fogarty, Ian Lawther, Willie McPheat, Jack Overfield.

Seemed to take ages to get there (train) but I perhaps hadn't realised Rotherham was a virtual suburb of Sheffield - right at the far corner of Yorkshire.
When the teams came out I had difficulty in working out who was who. We were in white and Rotherham in red.

One particular Rotherham supporter didn't think much of us - "just because they've won a few games they think they're a good team". Didn't like our crosses either - "But not dangerous". Mind you one came over and he said "Now THAT could be dangerous". As it turns out it wasn't. He knew the game was going to end goalless - "but we'll not score [implication was we didn't deserve our point and Rotherham deserved to win]". My own view was that we probably just about deserved our draw.

Don't remember a lot about the return journey but most of it must have been in the dark.
