Has anyone said Sabbaths Paranoid?
I'm not sure but wouldn't be surprised at all if somebody has chosen it.
That's the reason I chose Sabbath's Children of the grave opening riffs/intro, instead of Paranoid.

Today?

Tush - ZZ Top
Lil' Devil - The Cult
Are you Gonna Be My Girl - Jet

Tomorrow?

Gary Moore - Movin On
Sabbath - Iron Man
Stay With Me - Faces

Monday?

Hell Raiser - Sweet
Start Me Up - Stones
Heavy Metal - Blue Oyster Cult

Tues.. well you get my drift. Great subject, just too difficult.
Some great old tunes among that lot.

Pretty much every rock or rock and roll band that followed was influenced by those 3.
Bill Haley started it all when Rock Around The Clock was used on Blackboard Jungle. Teenagers slashing the seats in open rebellion at this music of the devil they'd never heard before.
The world turned upside down and youth culture was born
This thread could easily spawn a dozen more by asking for best or favourite 3 by genre.

Starting with Classical and working through the ages/genres

William Tell Overture
Carmina Burana
Beethoven’s 5th

And Mozart eine kleine nacht music for notable mention

Agreed. That's why I posted Wagner, Bach and Vivaldi.
It's mind bending how many bits of music are identifiable by maybe a 5 second clip.

One of my favourite Manics songs tbf.

Best they ever done imo

3 from The Manics

Faster
Motorcycle Emptiness
Slash N' Burn

James wearing that balaclava during their TOTP appearance of Faster.......classic:cool:

Have a like for Faster....that a Revol (lover spelt backwards) my favourite 2 Manics tracks.

This is actually the best post on the thread because without these ones, none of the others exist.
I know the ones mentioned took their influences from elsewhere but these three are the match winners

And a few years further back the Blues dudes responsible for loads of young 'uns to pick up a guitar......Brian Jones, Eric Clapton, Keef Richards etc
