Your biggest influences in Music taste

Right now, 6music & Spotify radio is where I hear about new bands. Or mates.

Going further back probably my earliest memory is all the family in my manas front from playing Wolfe Tones records. Then at school we did a Beatles concert for the parents. Just learnt about 20 Beatles songs & sang them. I’d have got there anyway, but that music teacher taught me my first 20 Beatles songs.

My brother-in-law was up there. Going to his funeral soon. He used to delve into his massive record collection to tape me some outrageously good music when I was going though my musical sponge years in my teens.

Other than that the usual outlets that were going in the 70s. Being old enough to stop up and watch TOGWT was a breakthrough.

I used to wash the dishes in the local restaurant when I was 14, one of the chefs would listen to incredible music.

Starting to play an instrument and associating music with generally cool people
Once i started playing no genre or style was out of the question to listen to
Had no music in my upbringing so don't know where it came from but i still look for stuff now at 60 like i did at 17
