Your barcelona excuses

Support for one would lessen as it increased for the other though, I would imagine.

Thanks for the reply.
I think I could support a foreign team if I moved to the area, but in no way could it compare to the support for Sunderland and that would overide everything. For example when we play the mags that game would take precedent over everything.

Maybe I have become softer to idea moving away from the region and not making every home game.

Maybe I just support SAFC with more emotion than you can imagine or handle
here fishy

Thanks for the reply.

Aye pretend you are fishing now that you have been proven wrong.

"Here fishy" you should be :oops::oops::oops: how old are you?

Sorry. I only meant by his brilliant standard. First half he could have had four. No criticism, just that he didn't hit his own level.

I'd say thats a fair assessment.

Had the same argument in my flat with people claiming he was playing shit, they couldn't understand that if one of Arsenals players had made runs like that all night and set up a goal they would have been perceived to have had an outstanding game.

Below Messi par though, without a doubt.

Messi's goal was onside. Late handball from Arshavin. But overall a good win for arsenal.
No matter how you look at it a 2-1 win is not really a good score at home in this competition. That away goal could be vital, especially as I expect a barca win at the campy noo noo.

Can't stand Barcelona and the pathetic worship they get. Their football is in a different world but that doesn't mean they are a god like club.

Personally hope Arsenal turn up at the Nou Camp and turn them over 0-2 in a drab affair to see them and the mob on here squirm.

Wish they'd fuck off wearing Unicef on their shirt...dunno why.

Where have I been proven wrong? You can NEVER support a team, especially an overseas club, in the same way that you support your local boyhood club. The connection just isnt there, you are supporting the club for completely different reasons. Nothing you or anyone says will ever change my mind on that, and I reckon 99% of football fans would agree.

P.S. Thanks for the reply.

 How many games do you go to. What is your connection to the club? Did you live in the area at any point? Have family native to the area?

Your no better than a kid in Sunderland who walks around in his Chelsea top.

I'm a kid from paisley who has adopted Sunderland as my team as work dropped me here 23 years back. I buy all sorts of shit from Safc shop to send to mates in New Zealand.

We have 4 safc season tickets

I consider my pals in NZ as Sunderland fans although they never crossed the Equator but they want to wake up on Sunday morning to see a Sunderland win.

I've been to Camp Nou four times, wouldn't consider going on a weekend if SAFC are at home.

Sorry if I don't meet your standard.

Have a great night.

And chill x

Nothing to squirm about if Arsenal win at Barca they go through to quote Pep Guardiola Barca can lose.

Excuses? The gulf in class was there for all to see. Barca are streets ahead of Arsenal in terms of technique, passing, movement, in fact just about every aspect of the game. The real eye opener is that Arsenal are probably the premier league's most gifted side in terms of the above.

So you are a Sunderland fan with a soft spot for Barca? Fair play. I'd say there are many like you - I was just suprised by the term 'supporter' (Considering some on here say that people who dont go to the SOL for every home game is only a 'fan' and not a 'supporter')

It seems your support for Sunderland far outstrips that of your admiration for Barca... which pretty much sits in with my theory on the matter.

Have a good night pal. Thanks for the reply.

Just the 2 complaints then??

No mate, no complaints. These things happen.

Video evidence would have probably changed the outcome.

Under the current rules, where it's down to a few guys making a decision on immediate evidence, I have no complaints.

Ignore Mongtana the daft c.unt hasn't got a clue.

The only way I can rationalise to myself that you support Barca as fervently as you do Sunderland is to assume that your support for Sunderland isnt as intense as it is for most Sunderland fans.

Then once again you would be wrong.

Was it an Arsenal pen in the opening seconds? Serious question as I havent seen any replays since the match.

Then once again you would be wrong.

If Sunderland were to play Barca in the Champions League final who would you want to win and why?

Can someone just remind me, was it Arsenal 2-1 Barcelona tonight?
