Your barcelona excuses

I'm right though, and you know it. Calling yourself a 'supporter' of a team like Barca is no different to my mate who calls himself a Liverpool supporter despite having never been to Anfield in his life.

I appreciate many people will like Barca or have a soft spot for them due to not only their history of success and top players but also their current style of play, but to claim to be a 'supporter,' do me a favour.

As this is a SAFC message board I would have assumed that the poster is a Sunderland supporter?Obviously we now have a small section of Barca fans coming on here to mock us as they now see us as a threat to their future dominance of the european game.

You know nothing and it has nothing to do with you why any poster supports any team.

If Messi decided to pass when he gets through to a brilliant position to square it then we would have witnessed a demolition job.

Barcelona were the better team, no doubt about it. They will probably win by 3 or 4 in the 2nd leg as well. God knows why Guardiola took Villa off when Barca looked more likely to score number 2 before Arsenal equalized.

Also, thought the referee had a pretty good game tonight, let it flow and didn't piss about like most EPL refs.

van Persie's goal was terrible positioning from Valdes, reminded me of Maicon v N Korea in WC 2010. At the end of the day, Arsenal fought well but Barca will still qualify comfortably.

Is it possible to REALLY support two teams? I don't think it is - not properly anyway, and 99.9% of football fans would agree. It would be a diluted support with no real emotional connection (Much like the example of my mate I used in my last post.)

Thank you for the reply anyway.

Messi missed at least two, probably three, chances that he should have scored. And he failed to control two passes first half when he would have been through again. By his usual standards, he was below average.

he wasn't shit, but he could have done better, that's for sure.

If he squared his passes when in a good position, Barca would have been laughing

barcelona kings of puffy football, closely followed by arsenal

PS great game of footy between two top teams

I honestly think you could if you were an exile and started following a local team, especially abroad.

Wrong again Bamber I support two teams. Season ticket holder at one a member at the other and go to games.

100% commited to both.

Bamber

I quite like QPR when I was younger cos I was a Big Les fan until he moved to Newcastle. This was before I started going to Sunderland games though... QPR soon became an afterthought.

Thanks for the reply.

P.S. I quite like the wordplay in your first sig

He didn't like. He didn't score any goals but just because that's unMessi-like doesn't mean he had a shocker.

Sorry. I only meant by his brilliant standard. First half he could have had four. No criticism, just that he didn't hit his own level.
