Young Fathers

Del Amitri
Associates
Teenage Fanclub

Probably in that order for me, record wise. Live, I'd switch the top 2 and probably throw Peat & Diesel into the mix.

Belle & Sebastian, Primal Scream, Jesus & Mary Chain, Teenage Fanclub, BMX Bandits, Strawberry Switchblade, The Associates, Orange Juice, Aztec Camera.

That's without mentioning some of the more folk leaning acts.

The Skids
As has been mentioned the Jesus and Mary Chain. Psychocandy is one of the finest albums by a scottish band and their follow-up Darklands aint bad either

Those early gigs
Primal Scream - Gentle Tuesday.

Doesn't get better then that.

Martin St John.....cool as f@@k doing his Gene Clark impressions with his tambourine

First couple of singles by the band Geneva were great.....that voice.

Absolutely love Deacon Blue, saw Del Amitri at the City Hall Newcastle and they were fantastic. The View were a cracking band. Big fan of Hue and Cry and The Beta Band.

In my view it’s between Deacon Blue or young fathers as best Scottish band. I hear your simple minds, being wet wet wet, move to Texas and marry Claire Grogan

Probably SEB but young father's are playing the boiler shop next year
Chvrches just for the singer.

Turning up locally soon, still pretty unknown and they will be excellent.

Not them again, with their weird Scottishness and great music, I’m done. Hope to see some of you when they play next month at bingo bingo place.
